Arsenal to launch bid for Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy

Arsenal are ready to launch a bid for Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy.

The Daily Mail says Arsenal are interested in signing Guirassy, who emerged as one of the most promising strikers in France last season.

Arsenal's transfer funds will be severely limited in the next window, with the club primarily looking at either free transfers or swap deals.

The 24-year-old, who has also been watched by West Ham and Bournemouth, is looking for a move to the Premier League after the FFF called an end to the Ligue 1 season and relegated Amiens.

Guirassy's intermediary Mark McKay has been sounding out potential moves for his client during the sporting lockdown, suggesting Arsenal could face stern competition for the player's signature.

The agent said: "A number of clubs in England and across Europe have shown an interest in Serhou after he performed so well for Amiens.

"In the current climate due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic clubs might not be able to pay huge transfer fees like they used to and in that respect Serhou could prove to be a bargain in this window.

"Serhou's preference has always been to play in the English Premier League, but Amiens will evaluate all offers that come in for him and make a decision from there."
