Arsenal table opening offer for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber

Arsenal must increase their £30 million opening offer for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.

The young centre half is a surprise target for Gunners boss Mikel Arteta this summer.

With Arsenal reportedly switching to a back three formation, an extra central defender is on the cards.

Per The Athletic, their first bid for Timber was turned down, but they will come back with another offer.

Ajax are thought to want a sum closer to £50 million for the rapid defender, who can also play right back.

Timber was a target for Manchester United and Liverpool, but no move has yet materialized.
