Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah says he feels ready to step up in the absence of Gabriel Jesus.

Nketiah scored in the friendly win against Lyon.

The 23-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game this season, but revealed that he is ready to step up now that the team need him.

"Of course, it is an opportunity for myself," he said. "These things happen in football unfortunately so you've just got to be ready for the moment when it comes.

"I have been working hard, I've been working hard all season and I'm sure when I get the opportunity I'll be able to come in and help the team."
