Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has released an extraordinary apology on Twitter.
Giroud posted a series of messages on Twitter apologising to his family and club and asking for forgiveness following allegations that the model Celia Kay had entered his hotel room on the night before a Premier League match.
He wrote, in French and English: "I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, team-mates and Arsenal fans.
"I now have to fight for my family and for my club and obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters at the moment."
