Arsenal staff fear Hector Bellerin season now over

Arsenal staff fear Hector Bellerin's season is over due to a knee injury suffered in victory over Chelsea.

The Mirror says Bellerin suffered suspected cruciate ligament damage during Arsenal 's win over Chelsea on Saturday with Unai Emery admitting it could be an “important injury."

The worry is that he has damaged his ACL which would be a long term lay-off with Rob Holding already out for between six and nine months with a cruciate injury suffered last month.

Arsenal have yet to be able to carry out a scan and are waiting until the injury calms down after Bellerin was carried off on a stretcher at the Emirates.

The best hope is that it could be a meniscus tear rather than a serious cruciate injury but the club are expecting Bellerin to be spending a significant spell on the sidelines.
