Arsenal are ready to slap in a bid for Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov.The Sun says Arsenal are closing in on a shock £2million swoop for Dimitar Berbatov.

It is reported that Arsene Wenger wants the Fulham striker to boost his attacking options after Nicklas Bendtner suffered an injury against Cardiff yesterday, with first-choice frontman Olivier Giroud also currently sidelined.

Berbatov is off contract in June and still a wanted man for Cottagers boss Rene Meulensteen.
