Arsenal have made a check on Cagliari attacker Nicolo Barella.

The Gunners have sent scouts to watch Cagliari's Barella again as their interest in the attacking midfielder increases, says The Sun.

Chelsea missed out on signing the 22-year-old during the January transfer window.

The Gunners have been monitoring Barella for some months and a club representative watched him score his maiden Italy goal against Finland during the international break.

And according to Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Nicolo Schira they were in attendance again when mid-table Cagliari host champions-elect Juventus on Tuesday at the Sardegna Arena.
