Arsenal's Wenger: Good form counts for nothing now

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is well aware that his side's great form in recent weeks means nothing if they cannot continue it for the final eight matches of the season.

The Gunners have raced to third on the table on the back of seven straight Premier League victories but with that third spot still well up for grabs, Wenger has urged his players to keep performing up until the final match of the season and not focus on anyone else.

"This is the period where what we do matters the most, so we just want to keep our focus on this and not worry about anybody else's results," said Wenger.

"We have shown both footballing and mental qualities in recent weeks and now we need to continue our development."

He added: "We are now at the stage of the season where every day in the Premier League seems to have turning points.

"What is most important from now onwards is our consistency and momentum."
