Arsenal's Nasri desperate to maintain consistency next season

Samir Nasri hopes to show he wasn't a one-season wonder, but whether that will be in front of the Arsenal faithful remains to be seen. The France midfielder has still to agree a contract extension with the Gunners - a situation which Manchester United are said to be monitoring closely.

Nasri was included in the shortlist for the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year.

Speaking to the July edition of the official Arsenal magazine, Nasri said: "As a player, it is hard to stay at the top of your game.

"I don't want last season to be just a one-off. I want to continue playing at my best and be consistent at the level I was at the start of last season.

"This is the difference between a good player and a great player - and I know the expectations will be higher on me too."
