Arsenal reserves coach Neil Banfield was happy to give Luke Ayling his debut in their victory over Stoke City this week.
Banfield told arsenal.com: "Luke has had a series of really consistent performances for Steve [Bould] in the Under-18s and we spoke earlier about it and he has deserved his chance. The opportunity came up and Steve recommended Luke. He said that he'd been training really well and playing well and that is how it should be.
"He has got his chance and he has played well tonight. He is composed, I think the types of players we are producing now are all really comfortable on the ball, that is the philosophy of the club. You need good, technical players to play the way we want to play."
