Arsenal refuse to cave into Barcelona demands over Cesc sale

Arsenal are determined not to be bullied into selling Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona.

The Mirror says Fabregas this week admitted he could end up staying at Arsenal after Arsene Wenger insisted that they are not prepared to sell at any price.

But Barcelona have not given up on signing Fabregas and Rosell intends to fly to London to try and thrash out a deal with Arsenal.

Barcelona have already had a £30m bid turned down, they are intending to raise the stakes with a new offer but have set a ceiling of £40m.

However, Arsenal have insisted publicly that they will not sell and they intend to take a stand over a player who still has five years left on his contract at the Emirates.

That is why Fabregas has appeared to make something of a U-turn on his future and hint that he could yet end up staying.

Fabregas told Wenger face-to-face that he wants to join Barcelona but has not insisted publicly of his desire to leave Arsenal and the club's fans would happily forget the transfer saga if he stays.
