Arsenal raid Sheffield Wednesday for ex-Man Utd fitness chief Strudwick

Arsenal chief Edu is ready to add former Manchester United fitness coach Tony Strudwick to the club's backroom team.

Yorkshire Live reports Strudwick is to join the Gunners as academy head of sports science and medicine.

The 46-year-old has been head of sports science and medicine at Sheffield Wednesday since joining the Owls when Steve Bruce was in charge in 2019.

Before that he spent seven years with United, working as a first-team coach before becoming head of athletic development, working chiefly in the academy.

Strudwick is also the Wales national team's head of performance, and he is to join the backroom team at Arsenal this summer.
