Arsenal are prepared to sell Alex Song to Barcelona. The London Evening Standard says although Song is happy at Emirates Stadium, the 24-year-old is unlikely to sign an extension to his current contract which has three years left to run.

Fearful of a repeat of the situation involving Samir Nasri, where Arsenal's negotiating position was weakened by the Frenchman having just 12 months left on his deal, the club are considering cashing in now - to the tune of £18 million.
