Arsenal are considering a swap deal to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.

The Gunners want a defensive midfielder this summer and manager Mikel Arteta thinks Partey is the ideal signing.

But his release clause is too rich for their present finances, which means a swap deal may be in order.

Bleacher Report suggests that Arsenal could offer Shkodran Mustafi and Matteo Guendouzi to Atletico for Partey.

Mustafi is a centre-back while Guendouzi also plays central midfield, and could be seen as a direct replacement by Atletico.

It is unclear if Atletico have an interest in either of these players.
