Jack Wilshere is delighted to be taking part in Arsenal's preseason.
Wilshere is back to full fitness now though and enjoying the Asia Tour, where the team are currently undergoing double training sessions in Nagoya.
He told arsenal.com: "The last two years I have missed pre season so to get one under my belt now will be really helpful. I played 25 minutes against Vietnam, so the next step will be to play 45 minutes and go on from there.
"I am feeling good and it is just down to getting the games under my belt and I'm sure the boss will give me them. As you get older you realise how important pre-season is. When you're younger you don't look forward to it and moan about it.
"The older players always said to make sure I got a good pre-season now I'm a bit more experienced and have had a few injuries [I realise how important it is].
"Hopefully I can get a full one in, and if I can do that and do my training like everyone else then I won't be playing catch up."
