Arsenal manager Wenger claims seventh place isn't accurate

A frustrating couple of weeks for Arsenal has got Arsene Wenger in a bit of a tetchy mood.

The Gunners manager was asked about various topics in the post-match press conference, and he was generally reluctant to talk about his team's downturn in fortunes since the loss to Manchester United at the Emirates.

But Wenger must face the reality that his team is currently in 7th position in the league. Yet it appears Wenger does not believe the league table is especially honest at the moment.

"The table is the table but it's not a definite one today. We've just played two away games in difficult places. Let's see after Christmas and January. It's a long way to go until then," he said.

Arsenal may be much lower in the table than they would like, but the gap to fourth place is not so huge. The Gunners have 30 points, while Tottenham in fourth have 31 points. It is the gap to Chelsea and Manchester United that will worry Wenger more.
