Arsenal legend Tony Adams says England are no longer producing quality players.
He has pinpointed the nation's inability to produce elite players as the real problem.
The ex-Three Lions defender, now a UEFA Pro Licence coach, said: "Stuart (Pearce) was doing a great job and worked very hard.
"But his hands were tied in the quality of players and some top players not being available.
"It's a bigger problem than Stuart Pearce. We are not producing players."
