Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares is set to sign for Marseille on loan.

The left-back, who was not in the first-team plans of manager Mikel Arteta, is leaving in search of regular first-team football.

Several British sources have claimed that a deal to take him to the French giants on loan is all but done.

Marseille and Arsenal have a good relationship, after the former took William Saliba on loan for all of last term.

The 22-year-old Tavares will be hoping that regular game time in Ligue 1 can help him show his worth to Arsenal the following campaign.

He has not given up on his dream of being a regular starter for the Gunners, but would be behind Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko in the pecking order this season.
