Arsenal have approached Real Madrid about a deal for Marco Asensio.

The Spanish youngster has enjoyed an outstanding preseason with Real and starred in this week's Supercopa de Espana victory over Barcelona.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is in the market for a wide player and an enquiry has been lodged with Real for Asensio, says Don Balon.

Contact has also been made with Asensio's camp, informing him that Arsenal are willing to meet his €80m buyout clause.

Asensio isn't agitating for a move away, but is seeking a pay-rise and some guarantees from coach Zinedine Zidane about greater playing opportunities this season.
