Nice coach Lucien Favre has been approached by Arsenal intermediaries this week.

L'Equipe says Arsenal have made contact with Favre's representatives in recent days as they prepare for manager Arsene Wenger's departure.

Favre is in the process of negotiating a release from the final year of his contract with big club offers arriving.

He has been linked with Borussia Dortmund, however French media sources now suggest it is Arsenal which is in talks with the Swiss.

Favre, 60, is a favourite of Arsenal's German football chief Sven Mislintat, having enjoyed impressive success with Borussia Monchengladbach for four years.
