Arsenal delegation on way to Japan for Ryo Miyaichi deal

Arsenal are sending a delegation to Japan to tie up youngster Ryo Miyaichi.

The Daily Mail says the teenager impressed on trial last month after previously playing at the Under 17 World Cup in Nigeria last year.

In August, he produced a dazzling display in the club's 3-0 friendly win over non-League Boreham Wood, watched by Arsene Wenger's assistants Pat Rice and Boro Primorac, as well as chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

The two-footed wide man tormented the opposing full-back with a combination of pace and power, and almost grabbed a goal, crashing an effort off the crossbar in the first half.

Sources at the 17-year-old's Chukyodai Chuyko High School said Arsenal officials are due to fly out to agree a preliminary contract with him in the next few days.

Miyaichi is expected to sign a permanent deal until 2015 during next January's transfer window.
