Arsenal defender Tomiyasu: Sevilla a chance to bounce back

Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu believes their Champions League game against Sevilla is a great opportunity to bounce back from adversity.

The Gunners were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle United in the Premier League over the weekend.

Not only was the result tough on the club's title ambitions, but also involved refereeing controversy.

“To play in the Champions League was my biggest dream so I'm happy to play in it," Tomiyasu told reporters.

“I just want to play on the pitch as much as I can.

“We are really focused on tomorrow's game. We need to bounce back from Saturday's game. It's a massive opportunity for us to qualify for the next stage. It's a massive game for us and we're playing to get three points against them.

“It's not easy to play in the Champions League and Premier League, but we need to be fit and available as much as we can because already we've lost some players with injuries. For me, I need to be fit and available as much as I can."

“To be honest I didn't train to be both footed," he added on his qualities with both feet.

“When I was a kid, when I had the ball on my right foot, I played with my right foot, and if it was on the left foot I played with the left foot.

“It's not easy and my role changes each game but the most important thing is how to behave on the pitch, how much you want to win the game, how much you want to beat your opponent. This doesn't change. My job is to give 100 percent on the pitch. It doesn't matter which position I play in."
