Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber was back in Amsterdam on Sunday.
As he recovers from ACL surgery, Timber said farewell to his former Ajax fans at the Amsterdam ArenA.
"Quite a special moment," he said on the pitch. "Emotionally too, I didn't expect that. I would like to thank the club and all the loyal supporters very much. I was able to play football here for ten years and enjoyed it immensely, won prizes and it was a dream come true to be able to play here in the ArenA for you.
"I am extremely grateful to you for that."
He added: "I hope that we can enjoy Ajax again soon and win great prizes again. I will always keep watching and supporting - today too - and I hope to see you again soon. Thank you."
