Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi has admitted that he was offside after having his goal against Chelsea ruled out.
Arsenal and Chelsea played out a very tight 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday but it did look like Mustafi had given the Gunners a lead with a headed effort in the second half, only to have the strike ruled out for offside.
Following the game, Mustafi admitted that goal was probably correctly disallowed by saying: "I saw someone behind me, so I thought I wasn't offside. I knew I started a bit early, but I know as a defender it's hard to stay in one line, so you get some going early, some a bit later.
"I thought if I start a split-second early, I might get this advantage. I got it but unfortunately the man behind me was Sead and no one from the Chelsea team. I was really unhappy with that but it was offside."
