Arsenal closing on deal for Bayer Leverkusen fullback Frimpong

Arsenal are determined to secure a top class right-back in the January transfer window.

The Gunners have agreed to trigger Jeremie Frimpong's £34 million release clause.

That is the view of Bild, who state that high flying Bayer Leverkusen may be set to lose a key player.

The right sided defender, who loves to bomb forward, has been linked to Manchester United in the past.

Leverkusen are not keen to sell, which is why Arsenal will have to pay the full release clause.

The Gunners have a limited winter budget, while they are also targeting a center forward.
