Arsenal are finalising a deal for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal have had an offer of £40m accepted by Ajax.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting: "Arsenal are getting closer to completing Jurrien Timber deal. Sources feel it will be done next week.

"Negotiations at the final stages since Thursday — more positive contacts took place.

"Payment terms being discussed with Ajax… and then time for medical."
