Gunners chief Edu has posted scouts to watch the Mexico international after his superb first season in Europe.

Gimenez was outstanding as he helped Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title.

The Times says his form has alerted Edu as they seek a new centre-forward signing for January.

While Brentford striker Ivan Toney is their priority, Gimenez is viewed as an ideal alternative at London Colney.
