Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has avoided getting caught in more transfer talk involving Barcelona.

Cesc has been speaking to the Spanish media about Monday's El Clasico between Barca and Real Madrid.

He does not believe Real have anyone to compare with the midfield axis of Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

He said: "They are great friends and colleagues with whom I get along excellently and off the field. It is unfortunate that [Spain coach] Vicente del Bosque does not put us together more often. Some say we are not compatible but I disagree.

"At present, Xavi and Iniesta are two of the best midfielders in the world, the envy of all teams."

When asked if he could be playing with them at Barcelona next year Fabregas's response was: "Don't start... "
