Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's new contract will be worth £4.5 million-a-year and put him on par with Manchester United rival Sir Alex Ferguson.
However, it still puts him well behind Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's £6.5m a year. Wenger's previous deal was worth £4m a year plus bonuses, but he has become the highest-paid member of the current staff, says the Daily Mail.
Thierry Henry's £130,000-a-week deal remains the highest in the club's history, but Wenger's works out at almost £90,000 a week.
