Arsenal boss Wenger willing to offer new terms to Diaby

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger isn't ruling out offering Abou Diaby a new contract.

The London Evening Standard says Diaby's current deal expires at the end of this season and he has so far made just one senior appearance - in Arsenal's Capital One Cup third round defeat to Southampton in September.

Diaby's recovery since that game - his first start for 18 months following knee ligament damage - has focused on strengthening his body for the rigours of weekly competitive football. He is not currently injured but no specific date has yet been set for his return to the matchday squad.

Wenger said: "If he comes back, I will keep him. I always believed in him. In football, the most important thing is health."
