Arsenal boss Wenger upset over Wilshere U21 debate

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is upset over the England U21 debate swirling around Jack Wilshere.

Wenger is on collision course with the game's governors over his young star's inclusion in the Under-21 squad for the Euro finals in Denmark.

He said: "He was not the only one because Ashley Young played as well. A lot happened last week that defied commonsense.

"We have to sort that problem out at the end of the season with the FA. It is in the interests of the FA as well that Wilshere is protected.

"It's normal to play many games but there is a number you have to respect and make sure you do not make a mistake with a promising player."

Wenger added: "It is about protecting the player. I do not want to go into these battles any more. I did it with France. But I have enough experience which helps.

"You know this car will hit the wall at some stage and you see it a little bit earlier than somebody who has less experience."
