Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Real Madrid and Barcelona have an advantage in the Champions League because the Spanish Liga is so poor.
Wenger believes critics are wrong to claim the La Liga can touch the Premier League.
He explained: "Everyone says La Liga is stronger than the Bundesliga - but that is not necessarily so.
"At the moment in the Spanish league you have two teams (Barcelona and Real Madrid) who are so much above that they do not always have to give their full resources in every game.
"In Germany, look at the position of Bayern Munich in the league - they have to fight in every game. That is not always the case in Spain."
