Arsenal boss Wenger had training ground pitches ripped up

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes a change of training ground turf is helping their title push.

The Sun says the Gunners boss brought about a drastic training ground change earlier this year which will reduce the risk of players' injuries by up to 40 per cent.

They suggest, after an initial trial period of almost two years, the pitches at the club's London Colney HQ were torn up.

And, in their place, AirFibr technology grass has been laid in their place.

The turf's Paris-based producers say it is made of 100 per cent natural grass anchored in an artificial root zone formed with granulated natural cork, sand and synthetic microfibers.

Arsenal were the first Premier League team to install the new technology, with their cross-city rivals West Ham following suit.
