Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is dead against the Emirates hosting games for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The Daily Mail says Wenger is understood to have been the Premier League manager most opposed to hosting games in a tournament that will use big football grounds to reach the target of selling 2.9million tickets and bringing in £100m.

The Emirates was on the first list of potential venues but Wenger was adamant he didn't want to risk damaging the pristine Arsenal pitch or affecting their fixture schedule whatever the financial benefits to the club.
