Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger can see Manchester City falling away quickly this season if their title bid fails.
Wenger believes City still have a big shout in the title race but he knows what can happen if that chance goes.
"It is not easy, it is demanding," Wenger told arsenal.com. "You always go through a period where you are a bit hand-braked, then when you feel you can do it and suddenly it goes [well] again.
"Man City have gone through a little bit that moment for the first time this season. What will be vital in the title race is the game they play at home against Man United.
"[They could slip] if they technically lose the championship but that's not decided yet. They play Man United at home, the goal difference is very similar and Man United don't look untouchable at the moment.
"You cannot say Man City are on the way down. It is a little bit uncertain. If they lose the championship it can happen but it's still 50-50 at the moment."
