Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has backed Sven Goran Eriksson foreign transfer policy at Manchester City.
"When you talk about top-class English players you talk about Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Wayne Rooney - they are all at big clubs who do not need to sell.
"So then if you want to buy that equivalent international quality, you go for someone like Elano for six or seven million - you could not get an equivalent English player for that much.
"I'm sure Eriksson will be a success, he is a great manager.
"You could talk about Man City for half an hour and still not cover all their new signings. They have bought very well."
