Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is to make an appeal to Stuart Pearce to leave Jack Wilshere out of his England U21 European Championship squad.

Wenger will make a final bid to persuade Pearce to leave Wilshere out the Denmark tournament, says the Daily Mail.

Wenger plans to talk to Pearce at the end of the season but is aware the final decision is England's.

Pearce, who selected the player in his initial squad of 40 on Tuesday, is determined not to budge.
