Arsenal boss Arteta urges Kolasinac to stay; pushed about Runarsson

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insists he doesn't want to lose Sead Kolasinac.

The left-back is in contact with Bayer Leverkusen and former club Schalke.

But Arteta said this morning: “I think every case you take it individually. First of all, try to understand that if they want to leave, why?

“At the moment, I'm not expecting anyone to leave shortly."

Arteta also gave nothing away on his reported interest in Lyon's Houssem Aouar and Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey.

“I cannot talk about players that aren't at our football club," he said.

After selling Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa, Arsenal have been linked with Iceland goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson, a 25-year-old who plays for Dijon in France.

Asked about the keeper situation, boss Mikel Arteta said: “With the departure of Emi - a big loss - we have to replace him.

"In football, the hours can become days. I cannot tell you [when]. The market is still open but things can change."
