Arsenal boss Arteta: Saliba deserves so much credit

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on William Saliba after Sunday's win over Brentford.

The French defender scored the opening goal as Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League table.

Speaking after the game, Arteta said: "[Saliba] has been superb, he hasn't trained for ten days.

"He had some discomfort, he only had one training session and he comes in and competes the way he does.

"And the ugly part of the game as well, which people don't recognise too much. He deserves some credit."

Saliba recently won a call-up to the France squad for their upcoming Nations League fixtures, bolstering his chances of playing at the World Cup later this year.
