Arsenal boss Arteta has new plans for Rice

Incoming Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice could be given a new position by manager Mikel Arteta.

Rice has generally played as a defensive midfielder or a box to box midfielder for West Ham United and England.

However, The Sun states that as Rice prepares to have his medical with Arsenal, there are plans to adjust his role.

Rather than playing in a two-man midfield in front of the defense, Rice would be on the left side of a three man midfield.

He would have license to roam, while he is seen as more of a number eight than a number six or number four in the center of the park.

Arteta will be pairing Rice with Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz in a very attacking midfield trio.
