Ajax star Jurrien Timber is on the verge of being announced as an Arsenal player.

The diminutive centre half is a key target for Gunners boss Mikel Arteta to boost his squad depth.

Per The Mirror, a deal between Arsenal and Ajax is all but agreed, with very few details left to resolve.

Timber's move is so close that his brother, Shamier Timber shared an image on his Instagram story of party decorations.

His brother Jurrien was shown superimposed wearing an Arsenal shirt alongside the caption: “Jurrien's Goodbye party! See you in the streets of London."

Arsenal are also likely to announce the signing of Declan Rice from West Ham in the coming week.
