Arsenal are confident a deal for Dynamo Dresden goalkeeper Markus Schubert is close to being settled.

The Gunners are now in advanced talks to sign the German youngster.

However, Schubert won't be joining Arsenal next season - with plans to loan the keeper out on-loan.

VfB Stuttgart, SC Freiburg and Fortuna Düsseldorf are all interested, though the Gunners favour Schubert staying in England.

The Londoners are in contact with Championship clubs about a loan arrangement next season.
