Arsenal academy chief Per Mertesacker has been spotted at Tottenham's training ground.

Mertesacker is studying for his coaching badges at Tottenham's Enfield training base.

It seems a strange choice of location given the hostility between the two teams, but the German is keen to add to his credentials.

Mertesacker retired 12 months ago having spent seven years at the Emirates under Arsene Wenger and immediately took charge of the academy.

The former defender is now completing coaching badges which could lead him doing more work on the pitch.
