Argentina captain Lionel Messi admits he let his emotions get the better of him against Netherlands at the World Cup.
Messi was involved in a war of words with Manchester United loan star Wout Weghorst.
PSG star Messi was seen gesticulating at Weghorst and mocking him later in the game, as Argentina went on to win on penalties.
Speaking to Argentine outlet Infobae, Messi stated: "Everything that came out was natural, a lot had happened on the field with that player [Weghorst] in reality and a couple more.
"At the moment of tension, friction, crossing, when the game gets like that, the fever with the referee too.
"He was in the mixed zone and the game had just finished. And well, I know that there is everything now."
