Anzhi Makhachkala have ridiculed reports linking them with a deadline day bid for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel. The Blues midfielder was quoted as saying that he was thinking over an offer from Anzhi, ahead of Friday's Russian transfer deadline.
However, Anzhi were quick to deny any such offer had been made.
"Nobody at this club knows anything about this player, we are not in contact with him.""After a few days we get bored of these ridiculous statements in the media," Anzhi vice-president Herman Chistyakov said.
