Anzhi advisor German Tkachenko has cooled talk of a major signing from Serie A arriving.

Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon has been linked with Anzhi.

But Tkachenko told FCInterNews.it: "The most outstanding talk I've heard lately is the possibility that (Alessandro) Del Piero would be playing with us and the fact that there was contact with Inter and Maicon.

"Its totally invented rumours, perhaps dictated by the fact that the player, in the process of renewal with the Nerazzurri, wants to earn a bit more in his contract."
