Andriy Shevchenko has been named new coach of Genoa.
The former Ukraine coach takes charge after Saturday's sacking of Davide Ballardini.
He has signed a deal to 2024.
“Kicking off this new adventure to bring back Genoa to its great history," wrote Shevchenko on social media.
As a player, he is no stranger to Serie A, with two different spells at Milan from 1999-2006 and again in 2008-09 on loan from Chelsea, during which he won the 2004 Ballon d'Or.
