Andoni Iraola: Bournemouth project immediately excited me

Andoni Iraola has explained leaving Rayo Vallecano for Bournemouth this summer.

The new Cherries manager admits he's expecting more additions to soon arrive.

He told Marca: "Well, the first thing was to finish the Rayo Vallecano stage, I think we already had more or less the idea. We had spoken with the club beforehand that it was surely going to be our last season with the team. And then once you have decided, you forget a bit, you focus on making the season as good as possible and once the season is over, you see the options that can be given.

"For me, the issue of Bournemouth, the truth is it made me excited from the beginning.

"In the end, the fact of coming to the Premier League and being able to face the best coaches in the world seemed attractive to me from the beginning. I liked everything they told me about the club so we didn't have to think about it too much.

"It is a scenario not so different from Vallecas, it is a club that at the beginning of the season we are among the favourites to be at the bottom in the fight to avoid relegation, but I see young players who have a possible interesting development in which we can support ourselves and they are hungry to show that they have the level to play in the Premier League. Surely we will sign, but the bulk of the team will be the one they had last year."
