Ancelotti: Suazo deal hands AC Milan big quality jump

Milan stunned bitter rivals Inter earlier this week by confirming terms had been agreed with Cagliari for the Honduras international, who only days previously had visited Inter for a medical.

Ancelotti said today: "The player's signature is still lacking on the contract, but I hope that it arrives soon. For me, he is a great player. I asked [vice-president Adriano] Galliani to acquire him last summer, but there were problems.

"Now I believe this is the best time to grab him, because with Suazo we'll make a remarkable jump in quality. I have known about this since midnight and the early hours of Monday. After that Galliani and [Massimo] Cellino had found the agreement. And I have to say that the negotiations were perfect."
