Ancelotti satisfied after AC Milan thump Sampdoria

AC Milan again produced a stellar performance away from home last night, thrashing Sampdoria 5-0 in Genoa.

Alberto Gilardino scored a brace and Nelson Dida kept his side afloat in the first half, silencing some of his critics.

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "When it was still 0-0 he was fantastic. He has gone through a difficult time, but that save restored his pride.

"This victory proves that matches are decided by incidents. At home we struggle to break the deadlock and then things get complicated.

"That is the key, as once you score a goal the space opens up for you. In the first half we played well, putting Sampdoria under pressure."
